Research in Motion won’t release its first L-Series phones with BlackBerry 10 until the start of 2013 but now we can finally grab a glimpse of the devices thanks to leaked video and picture footage. The team at Vietnamese gadget site Tinhte.vn debuted the phones on Wednesday, showing of the company’s OS and smartphone designs. The device shown is the company’s all-touch L-Series smartphone with BB10.
The smartphone is very similar to the original BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha B device that surfaced several months ago. In fact the speaker on the front of the phone and the microphone are placed in the same spot. Also in the same location are the front-facing camera and the prominent BlackBerry logo.
The company in several photos also revealed the devices battery which appears to be a 1,800 mAh option, alongside a microUSB slot, micro-HDMI video support and microSD slot for added memory capabilities.
On the sole aesthetic front the devices rounded corners and slim design make it look more like an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S III than a BlackBerry device. RIM has always suffered through bulky phone designs and the BlackBerry 10 era appears to be moving towards a new, more sleek, offering.
While this newest BlackBerry 10 sighting has not been confirmed by RIM, Tinhte came to prominence for properly debuting the Apple iPad 3rd Generation with a full video and benchmarks that turned out to be correct.
RIM will reveal the full specs list for its BlackBerry 10 smartphones in January 2013. The company has a lot riding on its new mobile OS, in recent months its stock prices have risen thanks in large part to positive early reviews of its BB10 OS.
