A new watch is turning heads with its ability to provide its wearers with the ability to accurately predict the weather.  The Breva Genie 01 can measure both pressure and altitude. In fact, it is the world’s first mechanical wristwatch to be able to perform those particular feats. Why would you just check with a weather app on your smartphone, when you can consult your wristwatch with skill and style?

Breva Genie 01: The Mechanical Weather Watch

Only a select group of people will be able to say they own the world’s first mechanical watch that can predict the weather, as only 110 of the watches will be produced.  Half of the watches will be produced in white gold, and the other half in pink gold. What makes the Breva Genie 01 stand out is the fact that it operates mechanically.  In a market that is increasingly full of smart watches, the Breva Genie 01 features a mechanical barometer and altimeter.  These unique features allow owners to accurately forecast the weather.

The way that it works is through a proprietary pressure chamber, made from non-magnetic memory metal which is lighter and stronger than aluminum but with twice the ductility of steel. This pressure has specialized meters that measure altitude and local pressure.  The anaerobic capsule maximizes sensitivity to even the slightest changes in air pressure. If you are one of the lucky few to own a Breva Genie 01, you will be able to revel in your newfound weather predicting skills.  You can also revel in the beauty and style of the Breva Genie 01.  The watch features an open dial and display back.  As such, much of the movement of the watch is on display.  Of course, if you just want the time, the hours and minutes are displayed on a semi-transparent smoky-sapphire sub dial at 8 o’clock.
