Do you need an office suite but don’t want to pay a Microsoft premium price for it?  Don’t worry; Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0 is a leading open-source office software suite, which will suit all your needs and requirements.  The OpenOffice word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, graphics and database package is available in numerous languages and works on all common computers.  OpenOffice.org has been designed as a completely open development. This means that anyone can report bugs, request new features, or enhance the software.

OpenOffice.org can be downloaded and used, free of any licence fees. OpenOffice.org is released under the LGPL licence. This means you may use it for any purpose, whether that be domestic, commercial, educational or public administration.

This latest update of the software includes the following changes and updates;

In-place editing of Input Fields.  Interactive Crop Feature.  Import Picture from File and Drag & Drop of Graphic Data.  Load/Import of 3D Charts improved.  Improved Graphic Modifications/Filters for Vector Graphics.  Keep original Graphic Data when ever possible.  Clipboard enhancements for Graphic Content.

Other Improvements/Enhancements include, Seamonkey replaced by NSS (“Network Security Services”)
Removed/Retired Features include, Support for Macintosh OSX 10.6.x and below has been dropped. OpenOffice now requires Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) or higher.

Now there is Additional Language Support in the following languages; Bulgarian (bg), Danish (da), Hebrew (he), Hindi (hi), Norwegian Bokmal (nb), Thai (th), Basque (eu), Dutch (nl), German (de), Lithuanian (lt), Portuguese (pt), Serbian (sr), Spanish (es), Turkish (tr).

OpenOffice now also has new and updated dictionaries in the following languages;
Lithuanian (lt), Portuguese (pt-PT), English (en), German (de), Gaelic (gd).

New features for OpenOffice include; comments/annotations on text ranges and support for iAccessible2.
