Face it – most of us want to go to space at some point in our lives. Whether we’re kids or adults, outer space seems to enamor us. We want to see far-off planets up close and personal, we want to feel what it’s like to be weightless, we want to see Earth in a way very few people have seen it, and maybe, more than anything else, we want to see if there really is life on other planets. If you’re really into this space travel thing, you’ve no doubt heard about Virgin Galactic and their desire to take tourists up into space for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip. You’ve also no doubt heard that that kind of trip will cost you around a quarter of a million dollars, and who just has that kind of money hanging out under the mattress waiting to be spent?

Luckily, Virgin Galactic is not the only company in the space tourism business. There’s another company out there as well – World View Enterprises – and they want to take you to space for less than half of what it costs to go up with Virgin.

World View Enterprises Wants To Take You To Space!

Up, Up, And Away!

Unlike Virgin Galactic, World View Enterprises plans to use a large capsule helped along by a stratospheric balloon which will seat 6 passengers and 2 crew members for a 2-hour space encounter. During the flight, passengers will see the Earth, of course, but they’ll also get to watch the most unique sunrise they’ll probably ever get to see during this lifetime.

World View Enterprises will sell a ticket for $75,000, which is still a heck of a lot of money in any economy, but it’s also quite a bit less than Virgin’s $250,000 price tag.

They’ve completed successful test-flights of scale models, but have not attempted a full-scale flight yet.
