If you like to play EA games and use an Xbox One to play them, EA has recently made an announcement that might get you pretty excited. Like everything else it seems, they’ve decided to offer a subscription-based service. Dubbed EA Access, the program will allow gamers to have unlimited access to a certain number of current EA games without them having to go out and purchase the game. It’s currently being offered in its beta form to a few lucky gamers, but a full release is expected to happen fairly soon.

When it is officially released to the public, four of EA’s most popular games will be included: Madden NFL 25, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, and Peggle 2. Subscribers will also be able to play various game demos and will receive a 10% discount off of EA content through the Xbox Games Store.

EA Launching Subscription-Based Service For Xbox One

As of right now, there is not much information out there regarding how frequently the games in “The Vault” will be updated, or if certain games will only be available for a limited time. There is pricing information available, though. Subscribers can pay $4.99 a month for unlimited access, or, if they subscribe to Xbox Live, they can pay a fee of $29.99 a year.

It is also unknown if and when EA Access will be available for use on other consoles.

Though the monthly or yearly fee isn’t all that much, like everything else it can add up over time. Do you think it would be more worth it to subscribe to EA Access than to just go out and purchase a physical copy of the game, or do think it sounds like a rip-off?
