Apple has once again topped records for the most sales in 24 hours, with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus selling over four... Apple Announces 4 Million Pre-Orders For iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus‏

Apple has once again topped records for the most sales in 24 hours, with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus selling over four million units in 24 hours. The amount of sales has knocked back shipping to October, with Apple already running out of stock on the first shipment from their suppliers in China.

Most pre-orders, according to Apple, will be sent before the end of October, but there might be delays in the near future. Apple is preparing to add another 20 markets on Friday, significantly adding to the amount of pre-orders and units needed worldwide.

“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”

The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus bring two new sizes to Apple’s market, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. Samsung has been creating ads all week to try and push people away from the iPhone 6 Plus, claiming the Galaxy Note 4 is better value for phablet, but customers do not seem as interested.

Apple does not disclose the actual amounts of pre-orders for the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, they blend them together, like they did with the iPhone 5S and 5C. This might mean the iPhone 6 Plus is not as popular as the iPhone 6, like the iPhone 5C last year.

Internally, Apple has added the new A8 chipset, a new 8MP iSight camera, new displays at 1334 x 750 and 1920 x 1080 for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, respectively, and a whole new body with curved glass. The iPhone 6 Plus offers 10 hours more 3G Talk battery life than the iPhone 6 and 12 hours more than the iPhone 5S.

This is going to be another great year for Apple’s iPhones, but the real question is how will the Apple Watch do in the opening weeks. Will it be another Apple sellout, or the first big mistake? What do you think?
