I know Apple made a huge deal about their forthcoming Apple Watch at their big media event last week, but I have to wonder how popular it will turn out to be. This might just be my opinion, but I don’t think smartwatches are as popular as many once thought they were going to be. Sure, they’re convenient and have some cool features, but they really don’t do anything your smartphone can’t do, and since people pretty much take their phones everywhere with them, do they really need a smartwatch as well? I’d say no, but like I said, that’s just my opinion, so take it for what it’s worth. When thinking about the Apple Watch, though, Tolunda QuickSurveys surveyed 1,019 people about it and the results might be a bit surprising to you.

According to their results, 43% of those surveyed said outright that they would definitely not be purchasing the Apple Watch, while 23% stated they’d probably not be buying the smartwatch. Right off the bat, that’s 66% of those surveyed saying they really have no interest in Apple’s device whatsoever. In fact, only 10% of the people said they’d definitely be buying it, while another 23% indicated they’d probably buy it. Rounding out the numbers with 14% are those who responded that they might buy it. Now obviously, the Apple Watch isn’t even released yet, and these numbers could very well change over time.
