I won’t say I’ve never done it, but I really try not to text and drive. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know the two activities really don’t mix well – no matter what, you have to focus more on one thing than the other, and when your attention is divided behind the steering wheel, that’s definitely never a good thing. While it’s completely illegal already in some states to use your phone without a handsfree device while driving, it may continue to get harder for individuals who have a hard time ignoring their texts while driving down the road. It’s now being reported that a company known as ComSonics, out of Virginia, is working on a type of radar gun that will be able to detect whether or not a driver is sending a text message. While we’re all familiar with police using radar guns to catch speeding drivers, having them use them to catch texting drivers is something completely new. Something tells me a lot of people will be unhappy if this becomes commonplace.

These new types of radar guns will be able to tell when text message frequencies are coming from a vehicle.

Radar Guns Could Soon Catch Texting Drivers

As of right now, no one really knows if this will ever take off, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it one day did.

It does make me ask what else radar guns will be capable of detecting in the future. Soon, we may not be able to use phones at all while driving. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts regarding this story in the comments section below!
