We all know by now that most everything on a flight is going to be ridiculously expensive if you want anything besides the free soda they (eventually) pass around. I’ve never ordered any meals, food, or other snacks while in-flight simply because I’ve been shocked by how much it all costs! Call me cheap, but I can’t justify spending a lot of money on something that can barely qualify as a meal. But, that’s just me. Imagine the shock you’d feel, though, if you got off of a flight only to realize you’d been charged nearly $1200 to use dial-up speed Wi-Fi service. That’s an all too real situation for a man who recently took a flight from London to Singapore aboard Singapore Airlines.

Man Gets Charged $1200 For Wi-Fi On International Flight

And before you think he went on a streaming binge, he didn’t. He states he only had 155 page views and most of that was part of his email. Wow – I sure hope the emails had something good to say for a price like that. Let this be a lesson to all of us: before you do any traveling, please make sure you check your international data rates, and check how much access to your plane’s Wi-Fi service is going to cost you before you connect to it. No one wants to be surprised with an outrageous data bill once the plane lands; there aren’t any emails worth that much money.
