Some very convincing-looking Outlook screenshots, which are supposed to be part of Office For Mac 16, have surfaced from the Chinese site cnBeta. If these are indeed genuine, then Mac users will finally be getting a long-awaited update to Microsoft’s producivity suite.

Looking at the screenshots themselves, you can see that the interface is much flatter, suggesting that Microsoft has gone with more of a Yosemite look and feel. According to cnBeta there will be support for Retina screens, integration with Notification Center and an improvement to cloud features.

Office for Mac

Office for Mac has not been updated in four years, so this will be welcome news for many Mac users. How far along in development the new version is though is difficult to say, especially because the screenshots only show Outlook. However according to ZDNet, sources say that the new edition of Office for Mac is coming “very soon”, with “the latest rumored release target for the next Office for Mac is early 2015.”
