For over the last ten years many a trip to the cinema was undertaken using the two-for-one cinema tickets from Orange/EE Wednesday’s. The deal... EE 2 for 1 Cinema Ticket Offer Ends in Feb 15

For over the last ten years many a trip to the cinema was undertaken using the two-for-one cinema tickets from Orange/EE Wednesday’s. The deal is super good for those of us on a small budget or those of us who want a cheap date. Or even if you just are that tightfisted that you wouldn’t go to the movies without a 2 for 1 deal!

For millions of the moviegoing public of Britain, Wednesday is THE day to go to the movies. Now though, it’s looks like the deal is about to hit the cutting room floor as Orange/EE Wednesdays will sadly revert to plain old simple Wednesday once more. EE is ending the very popular scheme in February 2015.

On launch the offer proved an enticing incentive for movie lovers to choose Orange as their mobile network of choice. There are other networks that offer similar incentives, and it appears as though less and less people are using Orange/EE Wednesdays. This has lead EE to cite ‘changing viewing habits’ as the reason for ending the scheme.

‘Orange Wednesday at its peak was a massive success and an iconic promotion…Our brand has changed and our customers’ viewing habits have also evolved so it’s time to move on.’

The deal currently gets EE customers a cheap meal at the Pizza Express chain too, so it really is a good deal for those on a tight budget who want to go on date, for instance. Lots of users feared that EE may end the scheme when T-Mobile and Orange merged back in 2010. However, EE has promised that there will be a replacement. ‘We’re working on new customer entertainment rewards and we’ll provide more details soon.’
