The name of you Chromecast should be on the TV screen, so launch the Chromecast app and it should find your Chromecast for you,... How to Set Up a Chromecast on a HD TV

The name of you Chromecast should be on the TV screen, so launch the Chromecast app and it should find your Chromecast for you, make sure the name on the TV screen matches the name on your app, and follow the onscreen prompts for selecting your country. You will be given the option of re-naming your Chromecast, this is particularly useful if you plan on having more than one Chromecast in the house, so it might make sense to give your Chromecast a name that fits it’s location, so “bedroom”, “living room” or if you have a much bigger house than me “poolhouse”.

The Chromecast will give you a code to verify, then ask to connect to your wireless network, make sure it’s trying to connect to the right network and input the security password of your wireless network. Now if this all works you should be able to sit back and watch your Chromecast update itself and set itself up, it will take a few minutes, go make a cup of tea.

When you get the update you should see a screen that says “ready to cast”, your Chromecast will now appear on your wireless network and any device connected to the same network should be able to cast to it from any of the growing number of Chromecast compatible applications.

Try something simple first, open your Youtube app and look for the little Chromecast icon, it should be as simple as choosing a video and clicking the icon to cast it to your big screen from your little screen, once you’ve done that you are officially up and running, well done!
