I don’t know about you, but I’m interested to see the direction the new Star Wars movies take. Probably more than anything else, though, I’m anxious to see the old cast together once again. One thing’s for sure, though – these new Star Wars films will be much more visually appealing than their predecessors. While that’s partly true due to all of the advances in CGI/green screens, it’s also true because it has been revealed that Star Wars VII will be filmed with a 70mm IMAX camera. While it seems like a ton of movies play on IMAX screens, there’s not many movies actually filmed with IMAX cameras because of the cost and difficulties of shooting a film with them.
Star Wars VII will be the first Star Wars film to utilize the 70mm IMAX camera.
Shooting the film in IMAX will provide viewers with a much better picture when they are finally able to watch the film, as the resolution will be 10x the normal resolution. It’s not known at this time exactly how much of the entire film will be shot in the IMAX format, but whatever there is is sure to be worth it.
Are you excited about the new upcoming trilogy? Do you enjoy films shot in IMAX? Or, maybe more importantly to some out there, what do you think will happen in the new set of films? Let us know your thoughts regarding this story in the comments section below!
