Sony may increase the price of PlayStation Plus

Sony is not planning to increase the price of the PS5. However, it looks like the cost of the PlayStation Plus subscriptions may be hiked.  While the price of the PS5 has been hiked in some regions over the past year, the recent memory shortage poses some new problems for manufacturers. But, it looks like Sony will not be affected by the supply issues. Lin Tao, Sony’s CFO, announced during an earnings call, that the company has already secured enough memory supply for this year, which means that production of the console will not be disrupted.

But, Sony has an interesting plan to offset the additional costs due to rising memory prices. Instead of burdening console buyers with increased prices, it wants to increase the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions. This move could annoy subscribers, but the PS5 will no doubt remain an attractive option for gamers. Tao also hinted that Sony may launch an affordable PS5 model to meet demands, while keeping the price low. This could be interesting, given that GTA 6 is set to release in November 2026, and it could help drive more console sales.

iOS 26.3 update adds option that lets you transfer data to Android

Apple released the iOS 26.3 update this week with various improvements. You can now set your phone to display notifications on third-party devices. This feature, which was mandated by the EU, forwards full notifications to other devices such as smart watches. But it comes with a caveat, enabling the feature will prevent notifications from appearing on your Apple Watch. So you can’t use it with multiple devices.

Another notable feature that was introduced in iOS 26.3 is the ability to transfer user data from iPhone to Android. It can be used to transfer messages, photos, apps, phone numbers to a nearby Android device. As pointed by 9to5Mac, the process does not transfer health data, devices paired with Bluetooth, or protected items. This feature was developed as a joint effort by Google and Apple to help users migrate between an Android device and iPhone.

Microsoft patches 6 zero-day vulnerabilities in Windows

Microsoft released the Windows security patch for the month of February 2026, and it comes with several fixes. Alarmingly, the latest Windows Update ships with security fixes for as many as 6 zero-day threats that are actively being exploited. Three of the critical security vulnerabilities allow hackers to bypass the Windows SmartScreen prompts, security screens, and one of these impacts Microsoft Word. The other bugs involved a flaw in the Desktop Windows Manager, Remote Desktop Protocol and and the VPN / Dial-up manager. In addition to these, 54 other vulnerabilities have been patched in the recent Windows update.

Microsoft has introduced Cross-Device resume in Windows 11, which allows you to pick up where you had left off on your phone. The Start Menu will display the recent activities, which you can use to continue your tasks. But, you will need the Link To Windows app on your phone to use this feature.

Steam to allow users to add their PC specs to reviews

Valve is making an important change to the user reviews system on Steam. It will allow users an option to add their hardware specs to their game review. This could prove to be a very useful feature, as it may help potential buyers check whether a game will run on their PC. It will ultimately contribute to their buying decision. The feature is currently being tested in the beta version of the Steam desktop client. The option to add PC specs in Steam reviews may also help users understand about performance problems that could be related to hardware limitations, or perhaps to due to poor optimization.

Steam goes 64-bit only on Windows 10 and 11

Valve says that is also testing an option for users to provide anonymized framerate data. This option will help Steam collect gameplay framerate data without connecting it to users accounts, which in turn will help Steam learn about game compatibility and improve the Store. But, this feature is currently limited to devices that are running on SteamOS.

YouTube Music free users lose access to lyrics

YouTube has made a change to its Music streaming service that has annoyed users. Free accounts no longer have access to lyrics on the platform. Several users reported on reddit that they noticed a card at the top of the screen that said lyrics were not available, and also mentioned that 0 views were remaining. Free users can access 5 lyrics for free, after which they lose access to the feature, unless they pay for a YouTube Music Premium subscription. Spotify offers lyrics for free users, so it is a bit odd that YouTube Music has decided to lock the feature behind a paywall.

But it is not totally surprising, considering the fact that YouTube began testing this change back in September 2025. Alphabet, the parent company of YouTube, had reported a revenue of $400 billion in the last quarter of 2025. While the majority of the revenue comes from Google’s advertising business, YouTube has been contributing steadily raking in money, thanks to its anti-adblocker stance, and aggressive marketing of YouTube Premium. The Mountain View company likely hopes that locking lyrics behind a paywall will attract more people to opt for a subscription, whether that plan will work remains to be seen.

European Commission suffered a security breach in January

The European Commission has revealed that it was the victim of a security breach last month. In a report published on its website, the Commission stated that the cyber-attack was discovered on 30 January. Attackers had target the central infrastructure used to manage mobile devices. The report indicates that attackers may have gained access to staff names, and mobile numbers of some of the staff. The incident was contained, and the system was purged within 9 hours, and no device was found to have been compromised.

European Commission suffers security breachThe European Commission did not go into the details about the attack. Just a day before the security breach, American security firm, Ivanti, had revealed that some zero-day vulnerabilities were discovered in Ivanti EPMM. This happens to be the MDM platform that is used by the European Commission, so there is a good chance that this was the exploit that was targeted by the attackers. Ivanti has already patched the security vulnerabilities.
