Hashkey Makes Hashtags Easier than Ever in the UK!

If you haven’t noticed, hashtags (#hashtags) have become incredibly popular over the past few years. At first, I’d only see them on Twitter, but now, I seem to see them on Facebook and just about everywhere else I visit as well. Sometimes, they make sense, and sometimes, well, they don’t. And good or bad, I don’t think they’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. They’re not all that hard to use – unless of course you’re using a Mac from the U.K., then things can be a little bit trickier. In the United States, you can clearly see the # sign atop the number 3; in the U.K., though, that’s not the case – instead of the # sign, they get the £ sign, with no # key anywhere in sight. They could make the sign, but they had to hold the alt button while simultaneously pushing the number 3 button – a confusing process at best. Now, though, there’s a project on Kickstarter that could solve that problem for good. It’s called the HashKey, and it’s a one-button USB keyboard; as far as the one button goes, you probably guessed it – it’s the hashtag symbol.
With the HashKey, never again will you have to ask, “Where is the stupid # sign?!”, because it will be right there beside you, hooked into your USB port, never to be missed again. Feel free to check out their Kickstarter page here.
