Let’s face it. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is a browser we all love to hate. It just sucks. And yet, not matter how many times we say it sucks, or how many times we hear about its flaws – securityand otherwise, the web browser continues to be the most widely used in the world. There are other reasons for that, probably, but we can’t deny its popularity.

New IE 10 Ad Just Might Change Your Mind...A Little

Surprisingly, Microsoft takes the flak for IE on the chin this time, with a recently released ad for IE 10. We’ve all been exposed to the rumours – and real news – that IE 10 was on its way before the the actual release. As we end the first week of the last month of the year, IE 10 has probably propagated to a wide number of users, with November being the first full month of the browser’s availability.

So, does it do the IE line justice?

Well, if Microsoft’s IE 10 ad is to be the basis, we can all hold pragmatic views on the subject. In a rather surprising twist of events, Microsoft has recorded its admission that IE does suck. Well, it’s an IE-hater who trolls the web who actually does the typing, but you know what I mean.

The video is endearing, which I find myself surprised to use in relation to Microsoft’s web browser. You have to give credit where credit is due, though, as not only does Microsoft come clean about IE not being the optimal browser, it also throws in nuggets of humour along the way. I actually found myself chuckling at the “lame” justifications that IE makes to defend itself.

Without further ado, watch the video yourself. I know haters are going to hate, but give this ad a chance. You might be surprised.

IE Sucks…Less

Have you changed your mind yet?

Endearing is the word I used, to be sure. And, who knows, I might give IE a try if I find myself feeling adventurous one day. I have to say, though, that as funny as the ad is, I am not going back…

You?
