Did you buy someone an Apple device this Christmas? Or, did you unwrap a new iDevice? (Even if you didn’t, someone you know probably did). One thing’s for sure – Apple had a great Christmas, if device sales mean anything, anyway. Why? Because they had more devices activated than any other manufacturer out there. To be honest, the numbers weren’t even close. According to Flurry, Apple was responsible for 51.3 percent of all device activations up to Christmas Day. Many of those devices were the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus, but the others included the iPhone 5s as well as different iPad models.
The Vice President of Flurry’s Analytics and Marketing had this to say of Apple’s numbers: “To put this in perspective, for every Samsung device that was activated, Apple activated 2.9 devices. For every Microsoft Lumia device activated, Apple activated 8.8 devices…” and so on. Those are some pretty impressive numbers in Apple’s favor. For those who say Apple is losing steam when it comes to their popularity, they may want to check out those activation numbers, because they don’t lie. Still, a lot of those numbers probably have to do with the bigger screen iPhone 6’s – it would be interesting to see if the results would’ve been the same if the iPhone 6 remained the same size as the iPhone 5s. (Something tells me their Christmas might not have been quite as good, but that’s just pure speculation on my part).
