Xbox Live – 10 Years of Fun

It’s been 10 years of Xbox fun and games.  As the company enters the next 10 years, here is a look at some facts and figures about the system.

Sales

• Over 80 million consoles have been sold since the system was first introduced.  Here’s to the first 100 million!
• Aver 43 million Halo games have been sold.  What’s really cool is the fact that almost 30 million have been from the current generation.
• Kinect was the fastest selling gadget of all time in 2011.  Within 60 days, it sold over 8 million copies.
• Fable has sold over 10 million games.
• The Xbox 360 has sold over half a billion games since it first began.
• More than 130 games have sold at least 1 million copies.
• Call of Duty has sold over 50 million games.
• The Xbox 360 system is the only one to increase in sales each year and is on track to continue that trend this year.

Users

Not only has Xbox impressed in sales, but user stats are also interesting.

• 11,286 is the average Gamerscore on Xbox Live.
• It has over 35 million members.
• More than 6.3 billion achievements have been unlocked.
• At least 20 million users log on every day.
• A new player signs up every 2 seconds.
• More than 100 million songs have been downloaded for music games.
• Gold members unlock an average of 575 achievements while Silver members unlock an average of 208.
• Stallion83 has the highest score ever with 650,000 and heading towards 1 million.
• Fans spend a lot of time on Xbox; over 17 billion hours have been logged on Xbox Live.
• In a single second, about 100 game and entertainment downloads happen from Xbox Live Marketplace.
• Over 4.6 million members use the Netflix application.

And for one more cool fun fact:  It would take around 485 billion Xbox 360s laid end to end to create a bridge to the sun.
