Gone are the days of hauling bundles of invitations to the Post Office, when planning on hosting an event. Nowadays, most people opt instead to create an event page on Facebook or just send out a mass email or text. And though this is a much cheaper and more convenient approach compared to handwritten cards, it does have it’s drawbacks. It’s true that with a click of your mouse you can invite 300 of your closest friends to your band’s first gig, a graduation celebration, holiday dinner or baby shower, yet with all the convenience, there is nothing about these text based invites that stand out, and your invite could easily get lost in the shuffle.
Creating Phosters
A new app, available for iOS devices puts the fun and creativity back into event planning. Phoster lets you create eye catching posters and invitations using professional design templates combined with your personal photos and text without a great amount of expense or exertion.
Phoster lets you be creative, but it’s quite simple to use. First you can choose from the apps selection of 37 available templates, and then pick your poster’s layout shape; either square, landscape or portrait. Keep in mind when deciding on a template that you are, at this point, only picking design elements. So, if you dislike a templates text font, that can be changed later in the process.
Next you will be prompted to choose an image, which you can upload from either Instagram, or pick one from your phones library. After you’ve chosen a perfect image to portray your upcoming event, it’s time to customize the poster’s text. To add more text, simply press the plus sign at the bottom and type. To move your text around the poster, just press/hold and drag to its new location.
Lastly, you can choose one of Phoster’s 20 paper effects for even more customization. And then your Phoster is ready to post. You can share your creations with your social networks, by email or save it to your phone for later posting.
The app is compatible with iOS devices and is available at the App Store for $2. Have multiple iOS devices? No worries, for you will only need to pay once to access the app from all of your iOS gadgets.
