There is a big firmware update on the way for the Sony Smartwatch 2. At a recent event the devices on show were running build number 1.0.B.4.80 rather than the current 1.0.B.3.46 build.
So what changes can we expect to see? Well to begin with there will be new watchfaces which will display more information on screen, including the weather, a battery indicator, a pedometer and the last notification received.
The firmware update will also see a scrollable notification menu and give you the option to choose which apps you want to receive notifications from. There will be new customisation options, giving you the freedom to change wallpapers and the way the apps are displayed on the home screen.
There has been no word on when this update will be rolled out but we’ll keep you posted. No doubt these new features will help Sony keep on top of its game as far as smartwatches are concerned but with the anticipated arrival of the Apple iWatch hopefully not too far away, will it be enough?
