Summer is fast approaching and all attention should be turning to holidays. Rather than just speaking slower and louder to the poor residents of your chosen destination, why not wow the locals with your language skills. I’ve picked out the top three translation apps for Android, which will hopefully get you started and help you learn the essentials, even if it is only to ask for “two beers please”!
Universal translator
This lightweight, no nonsense app is quick and easy to easy. It supports 48 languages, so not as many as some of the other apps available. However it does come with voice recognition for all of the main European languages and it will also translate text messages. This is a community driven project so if you like this app and have any feature suggestions, you can help in developing functionality further.
