Telltale Games is preparing to launch their next game series, following the biggest TV show in America, Game of Thrones. After tackling The Walking Dead, Telltale should be pros when it comes to mixing their own style with the show and the books, and the studio has a vast amount of depth from books and spin-offs to create multiple stories in the Game of Thronesâ universe.
House Forrester will be the main focus – at least in the first season – of the game. Players will assume five roles both in the family and of people working for House Forrester, as they try to survive the impending doom.
Not much has been said about what âdoomâ House Forrester is facing, considering the game runs alongside the third season of the TV show. It might follow the various conflicts in the North and how House Forrester deals with the Starks, Baratheons, Boltons and Greyjoys.
Game of Thrones is known for its many conflicts, both on Essos and Westeros. Using a rather unknown house will allow Telltale to keep true to the TV show and books, while integrating their own story and characters.
George R.R. Martinâs personal assistant Ty Corey Franck will be overseeing the project, focusing on the stories and some of the decisions Telltale loves to add to their games. In terms of combat, we expect Telltale will go light on the sword-fighting and focus more on story and deception.
HBOâs Season 5 of Game of Thrones is a few months away from starting and George R.R. Martin still feels a few years away from completing The Winds of Winter, his sixth book on the Game of Thrones. Telltale is not known for super-human speed, but has a schedule of one episode release every month, meaning the first season (six episodes) could be over by early 2015.
