Microsoft’s Games With Gold initiative is the company’s way of thanking its Xbox Live Gold members, and it seems to have received a good response... Xbox Live Gold Members Can Download Dust & Saints Row FREE This May

Microsoft’s Games With Gold initiative is the company’s way of thanking its Xbox Live Gold members, and it seems to have received a good response so far, especially with its offerings being rather interesting. For the month of May, things just got even more interesting for Xbox 360 players who are Xbox Live Gold members.

This month’s free Games with Gold starts off with Dust: An Elysian Tail as a free download from May 1 to May 15. Initially released as an Xbox Live Arcade game in 2012, the game was also an Xbox 360 exclusive. Last year, though, versions for other platforms, including the PC, was released. In general, the game has received favorable reviews, for both versions.

If that doesn’t interest you, or if you already have the game, then the free game for the second half of the month just might get you a bit more excited – Saints Row: The Third. While the game has been described as “over the top” more than once, gamers have fallen in love with the action and game play. If you haven’t played it yet, here’s a sampling.

If that’s not enough to convince you, then I don’t know what is! As with all Games with Gold titles, these two new games will be permanently part of your account once you download them. So, in the future, if you need to redownload the games, you will be able to do so, no matter what your Xbox Live subscriber status is then.

Xbox Live Gold members can monitor what’s on offer – and other perks – via the Games with Gold page.

One thing worth noting is that Games with Gold is only available for Xbox 360 games, although there has been some talk about the program being extended to Xbox One games in the near future (as it should be).

If you’re not an Xbox Live Gold member, you might want to reconsider, especially if you like making some savings on games.
