If you’re someone who wants to save quite a bit of money on your smartphone bill and is tired of having either Verizon or AT&T as... Sprint Wants to Cut your Smartphone Bill in Half

If you’re someone who wants to save quite a bit of money on your smartphone bill and is tired of having either Verizon or AT&T as your service provider, Sprint has just announced a pretty tempting offer. Beginning this Friday (12/5/14), if you bring in a copy of your current bill from either of the providers listed above, they will cut the bill in half if you sign up for service with them. And yes, they guarantee they will cut the bill in half and give you the exact same plan and services you had with your old provider for as long as you remain with Sprint.

Sprint Wants To Cut Your Smartphone Bill In Half

While this sounds like a great idea at the outset (and it is a pretty good deal when you stop to think about it), there are a couple of catches. The big catch is that you have to either pay full retail price for a phone (read: no contract pricing), or you have to pay it off monthly in the form of an installment plan, which means your “half” bill will have around $20 additional added for each smartphone on your account. So, until the phone(s) are paid off completely, you’ll end up paying an extra $20 for each phone. But, once your phones are paid off, or, if you’re someone who’s able to pay it/them off completely at the beginning, you can end up saving quite a bit of money on your monthly cell phone bill. The other catch is that you can’t change the plan without changing the pricing.

It’s no surprise cell phone providers are at war right now, and this offer from Sprint is sure to tempt a lot of people to switch providers. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below!
