A child disappearing has to be every parent’s nightmare. There are a few child-tracking devices out there already but the hereO GPS watch has an advantage over the others, in that it looks funky and cool, so most kids will love wearing it.
HereO has been designed small enough to fit children aged between three and eight-years old, so there is no way that it can slip off while they play. It has an adjustable strap and clasp, ensuring a secure fit on a child’s wrist. The watch is also water resistant, built to withstand everything a child can throw at it and comes in a choice of four bright colours.
Despite the fact that it looks cool and kids will love the bright designs, hereO has the serious purpose of tracking the location of a child. With an embedded SIM card and GPS, parents can find out where their children are exactly, either via hereO’s website or the accompanying app, which is available for both iOS and Android. For extra protection the watch also features a panic alert that children can trigger by using a special gesture, as well as a built-in accelerometer that sends an alert when shaken horizontally 5 times. Parents can also set up designated safe zones; if their child leaves that area, the watch automatically sends a notification.
On a full charge hereO can last between 24 and 72 hours. The SIM works in over 140 countries and does not incur any roaming fees.
As far as costs go, hereO will charge a monthly service fee of $4.95. The watch can be pre-ordered on Indiegogo for around $99 and will retail for about $149, with shipping expected to begin in July.
