A video mocking the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, has gone viral after being watched millions of times via Chinese social media sites and YouTube. The three-and-a-half minute mash up, titled “Fat Guy Number 3” is made up of a number of animated GIFs, in which the North Korean leader’s face has been superimposed on to existing images.
Kim Jong-un can be seen dancing, riding on the back of a pig and with his pants down, all of which has the accompanying song Little Apple, a recent chart-topping Chinese love song. Jong-un is not the only leader to feature in the video, as the superimposed heads of US President Barak Obama, Russian President Putin and the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, also have parts in the video.
The maker of the video, a Weibo-using Chinese man, has been making Kim Jong-un GIFs for two years and explains that he created the video “just for entertainment” and did not intend for the video to have any political meaning. Initially the video was uploaded to Tencent, a Chinese video-sharing site but it was later copied and uploaded onto YouTube.
