The podcasting world has always been a bit of the Wild West. You’d discover a series through word of mouth or maybe by way of an article listing recommendations. Then it’s on you to use a podcasting app or go to the website to download the episode and listen.

Today, Google is changing the game. If you search for a podcast topic, you’ll find playable episodes right there on the search page.

Google reports that right now, you’ll have to include the word “podcasts” in your search (“podcasts about tacos” or “Detroit Pistons podcasts”) The results end up looking like this:

Click on one and you’ll get a nifty in-browser podcast player, like this:

Eventually, you won’t need to include “podcasts” in your search – Google will simply return the result along with all the other websites and videos that might apply to your interest.

The feature is currently available only to English users in the United States. Happy listening!
