OneNote 2013 Now Out For Windows & Mac For Free!

Last week, we were teased with the news of OneNote 2013 coming to Mac soon, and true enough, Microsoft has released the app. The popular note-taking app is not only available on both platforms, but users can download it for FREE!

That does not mean that there is no premium version, which you have to pay for, of course. Earlier this week, the OneNote Team were rather excited about announcing the launch in their blog.

They highlighted three things about this release:

1. OneNote is available for Mac for the first time.
2. OneNote is free everywhere.
3. OneNote has  cloud API, which allows any app to connect to it.

The last part takes things to the next level, and Evernote might just have something to worry about. Here are other features of OneNote 2013 that will tempt you, if you’re not using it yet:

• OneNote Clipper for saving web pages to OneNote
• [email protected] for emailing notes to OneNote
• Office Lens for capturing documents and whiteboards with your Windows Phone
• Sending blog and news articles to OneNote from Feedly, News360 and Weave
• Easy document scanning to OneNote with Brother, Doxie Go, Epson, and Neat
• Writing notes with pen and paper and sending them to OneNote with Livescribe
• Mobile document scanning to OneNote with Genius Scan and JotNot
• Having your physical notebooks scanned into OneNote with Mod Notebooks
• Connecting your world to OneNote with IFTTT

With OneNote having these features, then its tag line “No Limits” is aptly chosen.

Additionally, whatever you make on OneNote your PC (or Mac) is uploaded to OneDrive. This means that you can view and edit it on your mobile device as well. Sounds familiar?

Oh, and of course, you’ll have your Microsoft Account, which comes with 7GB of free storage, no monthly upload limit. This really does make OneNote ultra tempting, doesn’t it?
