I have said it before and I will say it again, 3D imaging and Virtual Reality are coming on in leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. The Oculus rift is prime example of innovation and technology spliced together to form an amazing product. So it comes as no surprise at all to me that Samsung have got onboard with Oculus and produced something wonderful.
The new device, which was built in a partnership with Oculus, operates with a Galaxy Note 4 Smartphone to deliver a low persistence, virtual reality experience to you, the user.
The main difference between the Gear VR Innovator Edition and the Oculus Rift is that the Oculus Rift is aimed at pro gamers, whilst the Gear VR is more mobile and is targeted at the average gamer.
The Gear VR Innovator Edition is going to have access to a small selection of games and demos at the launch, including titles such as HeroBound and Anshar Wars, as well as 3D 360-degree video content like the specially-filmed portion of the Zarkana Cirque du Soleil show. These VR experiences are available via the Oculus platform.
The Gear VR Innovator Edition can provide an immersive experience with stunning visuals and a quick response time. The system uses the Note 4’s 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, coupled with its own touch pad, back button, volume controls, and focus adjustment wheel. It has been reported that the device is also lightweight and comfortable to wear.
The Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition is currently available for $199. If you want to dive into the VR world, then you can buy from Samsung or ATT. Unfortunately if you don’t live in the US then you’ll have to wait.
