Rook is in beta right now, but has some big announcements coming this week from the London Book Fair. Basically, Rook is playing off a concept that many game changers in the book industry already know: if you can get readers hooked on a little bit of free content, they'll whip out their wallets for more. It's kind of how heroin dealers operate, too, but Rook is cool about it. You can read as much of the ebook as you want on your own personal device, as long as you stay put in the location that's offering it (like a coffee shop). If you leave, you have to give up the book or buy it.
