To-do apps come highly in my list of priorities, for I am a creature of habit. I like working independently, but when it comes to the point, a list of what has to be done is imperative to get actually get things done. That’s why I am a sucker for to-do apps. Whether they’re web-based or runs on the iPhone or iPad, good to-do lists are always worth a try.

Best To-Do Apps

The good news is that there is a plethora of to-do apps available. That’s the bad news as well, as it may take too much time to try each of them out and decide which one will serve you best. Here are some of the best to-do apps in my book, and it is my hope that you find one which will boost your productivity like nothing else.

Google Tasks

Best to-do apps

Google Tasks

If you already rely heavily on Google Calendar and other Google services, then Google Tasks might be the best choice – keeping things in the family, you know. Google Tasks is integrated with Gmail and Calendar, so if you have either always open, using Tasks is even more convenient.

It is a very simple tool, and yet you are able to do a lot with it. Whether you want one list for all your tasks, or you want separate lists for different projects, Google Tasks allows you to do so. You can also set due dates and add notes to each task, if necessary.

Astrid

Best to-do apps

Astrid

Astrid is a good alternative to the bigger players in the to-do app game. One may argue that it offers basically what the others do as well – create tasks, group them into lists, and assign due dates. It also has social features, allowing the delegation of tasks.

What can make it interesting is that Astrid adds playfulness to the experience, and while this light approach may not be for everyone, its design is clean and easy to use. Available for Android, iOS, and via the browser.

Asana

Best to-do apps

Asana

Asana is my newest to-do app discovery, and it seems to be the best of them all so far. This to-do app is actually more than a to-do app and is well suited for project management as well.

Asana is a free web app, so it doesn’t matter what device you use as long as you have a browser. Its design is very pleasing to the eyes and intuitive. Oh, and it is very fast and responsive!

Whether you’re working on a personal project or you have team members, and you need an efficient task assigning/monitoring tool, this app will make things much more organized.
