When looking towards gaming, it is commonly assumed by people that nowadays, for the best gaming experience, only gaming consoles can offer the graphics and the power for breathtaking visuals and amazing game play. PCs are more associated with their functionality and ease of use for other programs. However, despite the falling Gaming PC market, the releases of PC games like Diablo III have rekindled the general interest in PC games and gaming PCs all over again. So if you’ve finally decided to buy a gaming PC, here are the things that you should consider:

Money matters. How much you can spend on the gaming PC can give you a guideline and a basic idea of the kinds of gaming PCs available. No one has unlimited resources, so it is considered a rather rookie mistake if you step into a shop without any sort of budget in mind. The budget also determines what kind of components you can utilize in your PC, for example, if you love the idea of having two graphic cards, yet have a budget that reaches up to $900, you won’t be able to get them.

Things to Consider When Buying a Gaming PC

Gaming Preferences

Once you’ve outlined your budget, let’s try to frame your gaming preferences. Although you might think that gamers play games haphazardly, grabbing and playing any game that comes out, there are certain preferences that they can highlight. If you prefer first person shooter games then you might focus more on getting a gaming PC that offers amazing graphics. If, on the other hand, you prefer RPG or strategy based games then getting a gaming PC that can process the AI of your games is a much better option.

However, don’t be too quick to overlook one feature or the other because games are now incorporating mixed features. First person shooter games are becoming more and more diverse by mixing in aspects more familiar with RPG games while RPG games are also incorporating various aspects of first person shooter games. This can cause you to require a gaming PC that is compatible with both these sources.

Memory and Storage

Memory and storage of a gaming PC plays an important role. You need enough space to meet all your gaming software needs. Luckily, you can easily get a 320-500 GB hard drive that can do the work for you. Since gaming PC’s aren’t usually required for functions other than playing games, don’t splurge on getting too large a memory which you will hardly ever use at all.

Graphic Cards

One of the biggest requirements of the gaming world, the need for proper graphic power for the processing of the game is huge. With the introduction of 3D graphics, integrated graphics like the ones found in the ATI Radeon HD 6450 and the Intel HD Graphics 3000 can easily handle a limited range of 3D graphics.

If you choose to go for one of the high-end options in graphic cards, such as the Nvidia GeForce GT 560 Ti and the ATI RadeonHD 6990, you might over blow your budget by a few hundred dollars but hey, what’s a few hundred dollars when the cost of gaming PCs can easily range among the thousands..
