Re/Code has announced that Apple will be holding another big press conference on October 16th of this year where it looks like they’ll officially unveil their new OS X Yosemite, as well as release new information regarding their new lineup of iMacs and iPads. While Apple hasn’t sent out any official media invites as of yet, Re/Code has a good reputation for nailing these kind of events, and they were spot-on as recently as Apple’s big media event last month where they unveiled the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8, as well as the Apple Watch. It’s probably more than likely they’re correct about this event as well.

OS X Yosemite promises some major upgrades for Macs and MacBooks, and many are looking forward to being able to take full advantage of the new “Handoff” feature Apple has touted. Currently, most of the Handoff features are a bit limited. Apple claims Yosemite will connect Macs and iPhones like never before, and will even allow users to answers calls on their Macs and then resume them on their iPhones should they choose to. Users will also be able to send and receive texts (not limited to iMessage) on their Macs. While those features sound exciting, we’ve obviously not had the chance to test all of them out to see how well they work in reality.
