When you think of skateboarding a few names come to mind. But usually people think of Tony Hawk. The guy is one of the most iconic people in the industry and has conquered many of the fields that he enters. From being the first person ever to smash the 900, to skating around the White House, Tony Hawk has done it all. The sport of skateboarding spanned into new and lucrative areas, when back in 1999 the first game in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series was launched.
Since then, it has gone on to become a very successful franchise and many of you will have some great memories playing any number of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games. Grinding, kick-flipping, and thrashing your way around myriads of different areas and challenges was hours and hours of fun. Do you miss it? Feeling nostalgic? Well we here at TechBeat have good news people, Tony Hawk has announced that he’s working on a new console game and mobile game that is due to be released in 2015.
Tony Hawk took to Twitter this week to announce to the world that he’s working with Activision on two new games for release next year; “I’m currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game)…I think fans of THPS series will be hyped,” Hawk posted on his Twitter account. (A representative for Activision later confirmed the information in Hawk’s tweets to Polygon).
Tony Hawk revealed the news to fans after clearing up information regarding his on-going mobile game, Tony Hawk’s Shred Session. Hawk said that the game has been put on hold indefinitely.”
I, for one, am pleased to see a return to console gaming for THPS and look forward to picking up a controller to see if I can still remember how to manual with perfect balance…
