An annual conference for developers and IT professionals took place in London last week, highlighting an exciting future for the tech industry.
Microsoft Ignite The Tour has taken place in several locations all around the world, including the US, Asia and Europe. On the Tuesday and Wednesday of last week it was the turn of the UK capital.
Staged at ExCeL London, found at the Royal Victoria Dock, the event provided some intriguing and inspiring moments. More than 350 experts were on hand, while over 100 deep-dive sessions and workshops were carried out.
Countless lessons will indeed have been taught, and new more efficient ways of working picked up. So, as you can imagine, all at FileHippo were particularly curious!
What is Microsoft Ignite all about?
This much-anticipated event provides those who visit with the opportunity to grow their skills. It allows them to not only explore new tech, but also connect with experts.
“The place where developers and tech professionals continue learning alongside experts,” is how Microsoft describe it.
“Explore the latest developer tools and cloud technologies and learn how to put your skills to work in new areas.
“Connect with our community to gain practical insights and best practises on the future of cloud development, data, IT, and business intelligence.”
So, as you can imagine, there’s usually a huge amount to take in – and this year’s event was no different!
Microsoft Ignite London – what happened?
Tech lovers were intrigued by the goings-on over the two days. The conference, formerly known as TechEd, saw an impressive turnout.
As ever, there were a lot of great presentations, with whiteboard sessions and hands-on labs available in the background. Microsoft experts, their most valuable professionals (MVPs) and community members were also well represented.
#MSIgniteTheTour kicked off this morning in London with an orientation of the 160+ sessions attendees will have an opportunity of exploring in the next two days. Exciting!

You could choose the best Learning Path experience to suit your needs. Once visitors picked their path they were guided to relevant workshops and modules. This allowed them to learn more about the services and tools that they use each day, or to prepare for new challenges!
There was also ample opportunity to network, which we always love! Both days saw packed agendas, from 8am to 6pm on Tuesday and 8am to 4.30pm on Wednesday.
“The event might be over, but there’s more to explore,” add Microsoft. “[Go online to] catch the most popular sessions on demand, ask questions and collaborate with experts in the Microsoft Tech Community.”
We have so many MVPs/RDs coming to #MSIgniteTheTour London I had to speed up the gif so we could fit them all within the 15MB filesize limit in tweets! Can't wait to see you all there! #MVPBuzz pic.twitter.com/dIAHaNn2UW
