Hollow Knight: Silksong was so popular, it crashed gaming stores

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been released for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series One, Series S and X, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

The sequel to 2017’s Indie action platformer/metroidvania had been eagerly anticipated since it was announced 6 years ago. Australian game studio, Team Cherry, released Silksong on September 4 2025, and the game’s launch managed to crash servers belonging to Steam, the Switch store, PSN and Xbox store on launch. It is likely that Hollow Knight: Silksong’s affordable price tag of $19.99, and regional pricing, has driven thousands of fans to buy the game.

Hollow Knight_ Silksong's popularity takes down gaming stores

Silksong reached over 500,000 players on day one, on Steam alone, which highlights its popularity. The game follows the story of Hornet, a lethal hunter, as she ascends the fallen insect kingdom of Pharloom in a deadly pilgrimage. Players can craft tools, choose various weapons, traps, and mechanisms to take on enemies. There are over 200 different enemies ranging from beasts, hunters, monsters, knights, and over 40 legendary bosses to battle. Silksong also features an orchestral score composed by Christopher Larkin, who also worked on the music for the original Hollow Knight.

007 First Light extended gameplay video is spectacular

IO Interactive released a 30-minute video showcasing the gameplay of their upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. The video focuses on Bond’s first mission in the field. It highlighted how players can use objects in the environment to cause distractions to get past restricted areas, talk their way in, and of course, spying on the bad guys. The social stealth elements reminded fans of Hitman, which seems rather awkward in a Bond game.

The video then cut to a later part of the mission, involving a high speed car chase, which was quickly followed by a massive gun fight. While the combat was impressive, the performance of the gameplay has raised questions. The release is six months away, so hopefully IO interactive will be able to sort out the frame drop issues.

007 First Light is releasing on March 27, 2026.

Mozilla tests Copilot AI in Firefox’s sidebar

Mozilla continues to add AI features in Firefox. The browser maker has introduced a new AI chatbot that can be accessed from Firefox Nightly’s sidebar, and it’s none other than Microsoft Copilot. This is an optional feature, and you can disable it completely.

Copilot is not the only AI that is available in Firefox’s side panel. Users can also choose Anthropic Claude, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Le Chat Mistral. The sidebar allows Firefox users to quickly access chatbots without leaving the current tab. Copilot in Firefox can be used to generate text, images, code, and analyze images. You don’t need to sign in to your Microsoft account to use the AI features, however signing in will allow you to access to a personalized experience, sync chats, and no daily limits. Those with a Copilot premium subscription have access to more features.

Some Firefox fans are not happy with the direction Mozilla is heading towards, despite the chatbot feature being completely optional.

Lenovo Legion Go 2 handheld Windows console announced

The Lenovo Legion 2 is official. It is a Windows 11 handheld gaming console. Lenovo took a leaf out of Nintendo’s playbook, by making the controllers on the Legion 2 Go detachable, just like the Switch’s controllers. The Legion 2 Go can be docked and connected to a TV, while the controllers can be attached to the charging base to form a game pad. Or, you can detach the controllers, prop the console on its kickstand, and use a controller in each hand to play games in FPS Mode.
