Rovio’s Angry Birds franchise was a massive hit, with an audience spanning kids to grandparents – and everyone in between. Pundits have long ago dissected to death the reason for the games’ success, but I think it all boils down to the simplicity of the game play. In any case, while Angry Birds is not six feet under, we can’t deny that it is nearing the end. Admit it: you’re kind of sick of the game, if not totally.

Bad Piggies

Bad Piggies

The good news is that there are so many other games to choose from. For those who have played Angry Birds to death but want similar game play, the even better news is that there are lots of games similar to Angry Birds. Take a look.

Bad Piggies

Bad Piggies has only been out for several days, but it seems that Rovio might have another hit in their hands. The game is an Angry Birds spin-off, which is rather obvious, with the pigs having their chance to have their own fun. Instead of flinging the pigs from a slingshot and calculating the best angle to do so, you have to build wooden vehicles to carry the animal. The premise is simple, but the game requires more thought and planning.

Bad Piggies costs $0.99 for the iPhone and $2.99 for the iPad (HD). Android users get it for free!

Crush the Castle

Angry Birds Alternatives

Crush the Castle

If you prefer princesses and knights over birds and pigs, then Crush the Castle will tickle your fancy. The name of the game is fairly descriptive of the gameplay: you get to play with various kinds of projectile weapons with the aim of crushing the castle. You don’t have to overextend your imagination to realize how much fun this could be!

The game is available for both the iPhone and the iPad, for $0.99.

Angry Farm

Angry Birds Alternatives

Angry Farm

It’s much like Angry Birds, but in a farm setting. The story revolves around a farm which has been left alone by the farmer (for whatever reason). As a result, the foxes come in to play, but the farm animals take their stand and defend their home. Straight out of a fairy tale book, isn’t it?

Angry Farm has 250 game levels and has a free version (with ads, of course). It’s available for iOS, Android, and – are you ready for this? – Blackberry.

So there you have three games reminiscent of Angry Birds. If you’ll excuse me, the Bad Piggies are waiting for me.
