Do you enjoy Facebook games? If you answered yes, you are not alone. Social networking games are at an all time high for popularity, due in large by increasing mobile accessibility. In a recent report by Flurry, 80% of the $10 billion in mobile app profits are generated by free mobile game apps. Who, then, is responsible for this influx of revenue? For years now, Zynga, known for the infamous FarmVille games and Texas HoldEm Poker, has been the leading game developer for Facebook. But now Zynga moves a step down while King takes the crown with three of its games placing in Facebook’s top 10 in January.

Facebook’s Best

King’s Candy Crush Saga sits in the number 1 spot with, according to App Data, 9.7 million daily users, compared to the number 2 ranked game, Farmville 2, with 8.8 million daily users. Other King games making the list are Bubble Witch Saga in 7th place and Pet Rescue Saga in 8th. Not to discredit Zynga’s accomplishments with Texas HoldEm Poker placing 3rd, and their scrabble-like game, Words with Friends taking the 4th spot.

Candy Crush Saga

The number 1 game, Candy Crush Saga is a bejeweled style puzzle game featuring a game board of multicolored, eye-catching candies. The player must swap the candy to create groups, of three or more, to clear them from the board. As the players experience gains, so grows the games difficulty to prevent boredom. The app also tracks the scores of the other players in your social network, adding a competitive nature to the game.

Mobile

The Candy Crush app is downloadable to mobile devices such as iOS and Android, and at present, is played over 55 million times a day, on these devices alone.  The game is also synchronized across platforms.  Any in-game purchased can be used across devices, as well. This cross-platform option creates optimum convenience, allowing continued game play from anywhere, and from any compatible device.

How many times, daily, do you play mobile game and which games apps do you favor?
