Let me be really honest for just a minute here. I hate math. It’s not that I seriously dislike, or even loathe it – I really cannot stand it. Here’s the simple reason for my mathematical disdain: I’m not good at it. At all. It doesn’t matter how many hours I spend with it, I just don’t get any better at it; what I do get, though, is incredibly frustrated and annoyed enough to want to put my fist through a wall. So, needless to say, my grades in any and all math classes during high school were nothing to write home about. (And, in case you’re wondering, my college math grades were just as abysmal). There is hope for me now, though, as well as for anyone else who was skipped by the math gene. It really is unfortunate there weren’t smartphones when I was in high school, because as of today there is a new app in the iOS App Store called PhotoMath, and it will do most all of your math homework for you.
It’s true. All you have to do is use your phone’s camera to take a picture of an equation out of your math book, and it will solve it for you. And, not only will it solve it for you, it will also show you how it came to the correct answer. One can only imagine how much math teachers everywhere are going to hate this PhotoMath app. In days past, all they had to worry about were their students copying off of one another – now, they have to worry about their homework being completed by their phones! Oh well. There’s always math tests to see which students actually understand the concepts taught in class.
What do you think? (You might not want to tell the kids about this one).
