An image leaked on Evleaks, shows what looks like the new Samsung Huron Windows Phone, sparking rumours that Verizon is gearing up to launch not just the 5-inch Nokia Lumia Icon Windows Phone, but also a Samsung Windows Phone 8.1.

Looking at the image, the handset does have a look similar to that of the Samsung Ativ S, except there appears to be only a dedicated home button.

There was a rumour that Microsoft was planning to use on-screen buttons for some of its Windows Phone 8.1 handsets, so perhaps Samsung is going to employ the use of both hardware buttons and on-screen ones.

Samsung Huron

Is it us or does this just look like a Galaxy S3 with a windows logo stuck on?

The Huron handset has completed its Bluetooth 3.0 testing recently but so far no confirmed specifications have been mentioned. According to Ad Duplex, the Samsung device is running Windows Phone 8, not Windows Phone 8.1, as Evleaks has claimed.

Maybe we will learn more at Samsung’s Unpacked event, which is scheduled for Februsry 24th in Barcelona. It is thought that this is when the new Galaxy S5 flagship phone will be unveiled.
