Walmart Now Matches Amazon Prices

I love Amazon; believe me, I do. I love getting the low prices, cheap (or, free) shipping, plus they have just about anything a person could want. It’s the perfect “store” – you just sit on your couch and order whatever you want, and you never have to leave the comfort of your home to go out and get what you want. (Okay, you might have to open the front door or make a trek to the mailbox, but that’s about it). There are no crowds to deal with, no pushy sales people, no traffic, and maybe best of all, there aren’t any long lines at the cash registers. But sometimes, as great as Amazon is, it just doesn’t beat an actual store like, say, Walmart. I know Walmart’s not without its own problems, but convenience isn’t one of them. Let’s be honest; sometimes we wait until the last minute to get our holiday shopping done, and we don’t have time to wait on shipping. Luckily for us, Walmart has decided to match Amazon’s online prices this year. And this isn’t just for a few select Walmart stores – this is a policy for every Walmart store in the United States. Obviously, Walmart probably isn’t doing this solely as a favor for all of their shoppers; they want everyone’s business and don’t want the online competition taking their profits. As far as a business and marketing strategy goes, it’s a foolproof plan on their part, and I have no doubt it will prove to be successful.
